Less Than Truckload (abbr. LTL) carriage is characterized as multiple shipments (from 2 tons or 4 ep) combined into a single truck for multiple deliveries within a network. Part loads are gathered directly from 3-5 different locations ("on the wheels") and are usually delivered to consignees without any additional trans-shipment (from door-to-door) over 3-5 locations. No more than 2 working hours are designated for loading and unloading.
